OByeolLab(오별랩)은 2026년에 문을 연 1인 스튜디오입니다. 기획과 개발, 콘텐츠 작성과 운영을 한 사람이 맡고, 반복 작업과 초안 작성에는 AI 도구의 도움을 받습니다. 이름은 첫 번째로 만든 앱 '오늘의 별'에서 왔습니다. 밤하늘의 별이 매일 그 자리에 있듯이, 매일 조금씩 쓸모 있는 도구를 쌓아 가자는 뜻을 담았습니다. 큰 회사처럼 많은 것을 한꺼번에 만들지는 못하지만, 한 사람이 끝까지 책임지는 만큼 오류 제보에는 빠르게 답하고 고친 내용은 페이지의 날짜로 밝히려고 합니다.
무엇을 만드나
오별랩이 만드는 것은 크게 세 가지입니다.

왜 만드나
한국에서 지내는 외국인은 비자 기한, 시험 점수표, 보험료율처럼 정확해야 하는 정보를 대부분 인터넷 검색으로 찾습니다. 그런데 이런 숫자는 해마다 바뀌고, 오래된 숫자는 검색 결과에 오래 남습니다. 예를 들어 고용허가제 한국어시험은 지금 40문항·100점으로 시행되지만, 50문항·200점이라는 예전 설명이 여전히 흔합니다. 오별랩은 이런 차이 때문에 시간과 돈을 잃는 사람이 줄어들기를 바라며, 공식 자료에 근거한 정보를 쓰기 쉬운 도구와 함께 제공하려고 합니다.
내용을 어떻게 확인하나
원문부터 봅니다. 법령은 법제처 국가법령정보센터의 현행 본문을, 제도 안내는 하이코리아·국립국제교육원·한국산업인력공단·도로교통공단·국민건강보험공단·국민연금공단·고용노동부 등 담당 기관의 페이지를 직접 열어 읽습니다. 블로그나 학원 자료의 숫자는 근거로 쓰지 않습니다.
근거 문구를 남깁니다. 각 가이드 끝의 출처 목록에는 확인한 날짜와 함께 우리가 근거로 삼은 원문 문구를 적습니다. 읽는 분이 같은 페이지를 열어 직접 확인할 수 있도록 하기 위해서입니다.
확인하지 못한 것은 그렇다고 씁니다. 공식 자료에서 찾지 못한 내용은 '확인하지 못했다'고 밝히거나 아예 쓰지 않습니다. 우리 나름의 권고(예: 체류기간 연장을 만료 30일 전까지 신청하자는 기준)는 공식 규정이 아니라고 따로 표시합니다.
다시 확인합니다. 최저임금과 보험료율처럼 해마다 바뀌는 숫자는 바뀌는 시기에 맞춰 다시 대조하고, 페이지의 '최종 확인' 날짜를 갱신합니다.
번역은 계속 다듬습니다. 서비스의 여러 언어 번역 가운데 일부는 AI 도구의 도움을 받아 만들었고 계속 검토하고 있습니다. 어색하거나 틀린 번역을 알려 주시면 고칩니다.
어떻게 운영되나
대부분의 서비스는 가입 없이 무료로 쓸 수 있고, 운영비는 Google AdSense 광고로 충당합니다. 광고는 콘텐츠와 분리되어 있으며, 광고주가 가이드나 도구의 내용에 영향을 주지 않습니다. 계산기와 도구에 입력한 값은 서버에 저장하지 않는 것을 원칙으로 합니다. 자세한 내용은 개인정보처리방침에 있습니다.

Who we are
OByeolLab (오별랩) is a one-person studio founded in 2026. One person plans, builds, writes and runs everything, with AI tools helping with repetitive work and first drafts. The name comes from our first app, Oneul (오늘의 별, "today's star"): like stars that are there every night, we try to add something useful every day.
What we build
We build three kinds of things. Exam preparation: KIIP Prep for the Korea Immigration and Integration Program tests, TOPIK Prep for the Test of Proficiency in Korean, EPS-TOPIK Prep (beta) for the Employment Permit System test, and Driver's License Written Test Prep based on the public question bank of the Korea Road Traffic Authority. Everyday tools: OByeolLab Tools, with an F-2-7 points calculator, a pay and severance calculator for foreign workers, a parental leave benefit calculator, a visa expiry calculator with reminders, a payslip and contract reader and a resume builder, plus the Everyday Korean Phrasebook. And guides on residence, exams, work and pay, checked against official sources and written in Korean and English.
Why
Foreign residents usually find visa deadlines, exam score tables and insurance rates through web searches, but these numbers change every year and old figures stay in search results for a long time. The EPS-TOPIK, for example, now has 40 items worth 100 points, yet descriptions of the old 50-item, 200-point test are still common. We want fewer people to lose time or money because of gaps like that, so we pair information grounded in official sources with tools that are easy to use.
How we check our content
We start from the original: current statutes on the Korean Law Information Center, and the pages of the agencies in charge, such as HiKorea, NIIED, HRD Korea, the Korea Road Traffic Authority, the National Health Insurance Service, the National Pension Service and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. We do not use figures from blogs or private academies as evidence. Each guide ends with a source list giving the date we checked and the exact wording we relied on, so you can open the same page and see for yourself. If we cannot confirm something from an official source, we say so or leave it out, and we label our own recommendations, such as applying for an extension at least 30 days before expiry, as ours rather than official rules. Figures that change every year, such as the minimum wage and insurance rates, are rechecked when they change, and the "last checked" date is updated. Some translations in our services were made with the help of AI tools and are still being reviewed; please tell us about any awkward or wrong translation.
How we are funded
Most services are free and need no sign-up. We cover running costs with Google AdSense advertising. Ads are kept separate from content, and advertisers have no influence on our guides or tools. As a rule, values you type into our calculators and tools are not stored on our servers. See our privacy policy for details.
