한국식 이력서 기본 규칙

1. 사진 · Photo

한국 이력서 양식은 보통 왼쪽 위에 증명사진(3×4cm) 칸이 있습니다. 다만 「채용절차의 공정화에 관한 법률」 제4조의3은 상시 30명 이상 사업장의 채용에서 직무에 필요하지 않은 용모·키·체중 같은 신체 조건, 출신 지역·혼인 여부·재산, 가족의 학력·직업·재산 정보를 요구하지 못하게 합니다. 공공기관 블라인드 채용 서식에는 사진 칸이 없습니다. 채용 공고에 사진 요구가 없으면 넣지 않아도 되고, 이 도구의 "블라인드 서식"을 켜면 사진과 생년월일이 빠집니다.

Korean résumé forms usually have an ID-photo box (3×4 cm) at the top left. However, Article 4-3 of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act bars employers with 30 or more regular workers from asking, unless needed for the job, for physical traits such as appearance, height or weight, for place of origin, marital status or assets, or for family members’ education, jobs or assets. Public-sector “blind hiring” forms have no photo box. If the posting does not ask for a photo you may leave it out; the “blind format” option in this tool removes the photo and date of birth.

2. 생년월일 · Date of birth

민간 기업 이력서에는 생년월일을 적는 경우가 많지만 법으로 정해진 필수 항목은 아닙니다. 공고나 회사 양식이 따로 있으면 그 양식을 따르세요.

Many private-sector résumés include the date of birth, but it is not a legally required item. If the posting or the company provides its own form, follow that form.

3. 체류자격(비자) · Visa status

「출입국관리법」 제18조에 따라 회사는 취업할 수 있는 체류자격이 없는 외국인을 고용할 수 없습니다. 그래서 한국 회사는 외국인 지원자의 체류자격과 만료일을 먼저 확인합니다. 이력서 인적사항에 "E-7 (특정활동) · 만료일 2027.03.31"처럼 정확히 적고, 체류자격 변경이 필요하면(예: D-10 → E-7) 메모로 밝혀 두세요. 체류자격별 취업 가능 범위는 하이코리아나 외국인종합안내센터(1345)에서 확인하세요.

Under Article 18 of the Immigration Act, an employer may not hire a foreign national who lacks a status of stay that permits the work. Korean employers therefore check a foreign applicant’s visa status and expiry date first. Write it precisely in the personal details (for example “E-7 · expires 2027.03.31”), and if you will need a change of status (for example D-10 → E-7) say so in the note. Check what work each status allows on HiKorea or with the Immigration Contact Center (1345).

4. 한국어 능력 · Korean ability

TOPIK 급수와 성적 발표일, 사회통합프로그램(KIIP) 이수 단계를 적습니다. TOPIK 성적은 발표일로부터 2년 동안 유효하므로 날짜를 함께 쓰는 것이 좋습니다.

State your TOPIK level with the result date, and the KIIP stage you completed. TOPIK results are valid for two years from the announcement date, so include the date.

5. 이름과 마지막 확인 문구 · Name and closing line

이름은 한글 표기와 여권 영문 표기를 함께 적으면 서류 대조가 쉽습니다. 한국 이력서는 끝에 "위에 적은 내용은 사실과 다름없음" 같은 확인 문구와 작성 날짜, 작성자 이름을 넣는 것이 일반적입니다.

Writing your name both in Hangul and exactly as in your passport makes document checks easier. Korean résumés usually end with a statement that the information is true, the date and the applicant’s name.

6. 자기소개서 · Cover letter (자기소개서)

자기소개서는 보통 성장과정, 성격의 장단점, 지원동기, 입사 후 포부 같은 항목으로 나누고, 항목마다 500자나 1,000자처럼 글자 수 제한이 있습니다. 제한이 공백을 포함하는지 공고에서 확인하세요. 문체는 "-습니다" 체(합쇼체)로 통일합니다.

A Korean cover letter is usually split into items such as background, strengths and weaknesses, motivation and goals after joining, each with a character limit such as 500 or 1,000 characters. Check in the posting whether the limit counts spaces. Keep one formal style (“-습니다”) throughout.
